Blue Wave Beacon ("we," "us," or "the site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we do and do not collect when you visit bluewavebeacon.com, and your rights regarding that information.
We do not track you, run advertising trackers, sell data, or use invasive analytics. The site is a static news aggregator hosted on GitHub Pages. The only time you share personal information with us is if you voluntarily submit it — for example, by signing up for our newsletter or emailing us.
Newsletter sign-ups. If you enter your email address in our newsletter form, that email is collected and processed by our third-party form provider, Formspree, and used solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time. Formspree's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
Email correspondence. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message, used only to respond to you.
Server logs. Our host (GitHub Pages) and, if enabled, our content delivery network (Cloudflare) may automatically collect standard technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps for security and operational purposes. This is standard for virtually all websites and is handled under those providers' privacy policies (GitHub, Cloudflare).
Donations are processed entirely by third-party platforms (PayPal, Patreon, Ko-fi, etc.). We never see or store your payment card details. Any information you provide during a donation is governed by that platform's own privacy policy.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (which, in practice, is limited to your email address if you subscribed). To exercise any of these rights, email contact@bluewavebeacon.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to "opt out" of selling.
Blue Wave Beacon is an aggregator: nearly every headline links to an external news outlet. Once you click through, you are subject to that site's privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of external sites.
